Finding your own North Star takes courage and commitment – it’s an arduous journey that yields incredible returns.  Gretchen’s life is a terrific example of a woman creating and re-creating a life filled with meaning and purpose.  From this journey she brings pearls of wisdom to her coaching work complemented by a mind like quicksilver and a gentle heart.  I have been delighted to work with Gretchen and would recommend her as your personal coach without hesitation.

-Dr. Martha Beck, best-selling author and monthly columnist for O: Oprah’s Magazine

"I needed someone to hear my story and help me tune into what I wanted. I was ruled by "shoulds" and the roles I played - mother, wife, strong one, daughter, the one in control. I was getting ready to make some big decisions and couldn't find the clarity to make them. I was constantly doubting myself. Gretchen listened to my story with compassion and honesty and made me feel heard, without the veil of preconceptions about who I am or was supposed to be. This, in itself, gave me strength and courage to listen to myself. Through our coaching sessions, she asked me questions that quickly narrowed in on the principal, my truth, that I needed to pull to the surface and examine. She has a way of finding the nugget that is keeping me back, and then leading me to concrete, real world tools deal with and move through it. As I have begun to listen to myself and act accordingly, my relationships are more real and have more connection, self doubt is much more rare and I feel stronger, happier and somehow, a whole lot lighter. The coaching sessions with Gretchen have left me empowered, enlightened and living an amazing life. Thank you.
I will miss you when we end our sessions. I will know when the time is right to end them but damn, I have learned a lot about myself these past few months - and I like it! There will be a time when I just need to practice what I have learned but until then, I look forward to our next call.

"As a consultant and trainer with a growing global business, I constantly struggle with how to continue to nurture my business but not let it consume my entire life.  Finding balance both eludes and stresses me.  I also struggle on occasion with how to manage specific client challenges and my role in the interventions.  Gretchen helps me stop, breathe and look at the stressor situation with different eyes, and to break it down into workable pieces and figure it out.  She coaches me with honest simplicity but doesn't ever let me have the easy way out. She calls me out on my "stuff", which I desperately need someone to do!  I've had two other executive coaches over the years but in the past several years of coaching by Gretchen, I've grown more personally and professionally than with any other coach.  She truly listens, engages me in a thoughtful dialogue and guides me to find my own solutions.  My business continues to grow, and I continue to have my stressors, but Gretchen makes me feel like I can tackle it all, no matter what comes flying at me.  I am successful today because I have Gretchen at my side, coaching me through life.  I feel it is a gift to know her and learn from her."

I have had the good fortune, and pleasure, in working with Gretchen for many, many years.  Gretchen believed in me from the very beginning, and through her “no nonsense – tell it like it is” approach I have grown into the woman I am today… confident, capable and in charge of my life.  Gretchen has an amazing ability to listen objectively, visualize globally and formulate a comprehensive plan to get on…and remain on… your true and authentic life’s path.  It wasn’t always easy, and I occasionally didn’t like what Gretchen had to say, but I can honestly admit it has been an awesome experience.  I thank you Gretch, for your guidance, encouragement, patience and care as I stumbled and blundered my way into believing in myself.

"In the fall of 2007 I was laid off from my job and found myself at a cross roads.  I was blind sided by the abrupt halt in my carear and really could not see past the disappointment, resentment, and venerability.  Coupled with that, I was helping care for my mother who has cancer and in turn taking care of my father dealing with my mother.  I sat down with Gretchen for a few hours and as I like say she "work shopped" me.  She was able to help me identify and verbalize for an interview what I need in an employer, what my strengths are as an employee, and how to frame my past experience.  We also worked on boundaries for assisting in my mother's medical care without losing myself in the process and not enabling my father to not participate in her care with me.  Gretchen is truly gifted in helping people.  She always asks the right questions to get you to the route of your issue.  I am always amazed how she can listen, empathize, and then summarize what I've said in a clear and concise manner.  Gretchen helped coach me through an extremely difficult transition. I am forever grateful that after our time together I had a clear action plan to take control and get my life back on track."

I so enjoy our time together – I find you so clear and insightful that it revs me up!  I figured out that it wasn’t really anyone that “gave up on me” – but it has been me giving up on me!!  That was major to figure out – thanks for planting the seeds – you are so good at that!  So my declaration is to treat myself like I’m my best friend and that I’m worthy and worth it.  It is an evolution that is so worth it.  I’m coming awake and there are moments of fear but also mostly moments of excitement – because I can be, do and have anything!

I think Gretchen is terrific.  After going through a huge change in my life, I felt lost and unclear of my purpose.  Gretchen taught me about my "Board of Directors" and more importantly how much they play a part in how I thought I should be versus who I really am.  She also helped break down some of the thoughts I was telling myself making me realize how untrue they really were.  I catch myself now thinking, "how true is that statement?" and then changing my statement to one that feels closer to the truth.   She is also easy to speak to and never appears judgmental or rushed.  I am always amazed at how she gets right to the point of what I am trying to say and then pulls it all together to form the next step in my personal growth.   The work Gretchen has done with me has been worth every penny and I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for more meaning and clarity in their life.
